Galeria da Boavista

Located in various parts of the city, our galleries are destined to promoting and disseminating the visual arts through a multidisciplinary approach, providing spaces for anthological exhibitions, exhibitions by young artists, and individual and collective site-specific projects. In keeping with the specific characteristics of each space, each gallery is in charge of managing its own strategy while remaining cognizant of the needs of the city’s cultural agents. The Galleries include Pavilhão Branco (White Pavilion), the historic Galeria Quadrum (Quadrum Gallery), Galeria Boavista (Boavista Gallery), Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional (Gallery at the National Ropework Factory) and Galeria Avenida da Índia (Avenida da Índia Gallery).

Opened in 2009, Galeria da Rua da Boavista has shown, from the outset, a broad-ranging and multi-faceted tendency over its various floors: the program has been shared with several cultural agents – from associations to festivals – that use this space to showcase exhibitions, performances, concerts or other activities. By doing so, the gallery is a space of discussion, presentation of different disciplines and pronounced informality in the city.
