Festas de Lisboa
Casamentos de Santo António
Now nearly 70 years old, this wedding tradition dates back to 13 June 1958, when the first edition brought together 36 couples. Interrupted in 1974 and revived by the Lisbon City Council in 1997, the event has since united 431 couples in religious and civil ceremonies.
This year, 16 more couples, aged between 27 and 51, will say the long-awaited “I do” in front of the whole city, in one of the highlights and most cherished moments of the Festas de Lisboa. The day begins with the civil ceremony at 11:30 am at the Paços do Concelho. The religious ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Lisbon Cathedral.
