The Guitar Construction Workshop at the Museu do Fado first opened its doors on 23 April, with spaces for construction, film screenings, consultation on guitar makers and guitarists and a space for selling instruments and accessories for the Portuguese guitar.
The Guitar Construction Course begins in the next school year (2019/2020) and the Workshop will present a regular program of workshops between May and September on the different stages of building a Portuguese guitar.
The space pays homage to the two great Traditional Schools in the Art of Building the Portuguese Guitar: Gilberto Grácio’s and Óscar Cardoso’s, and can be visited, by booking at the Fado Museum.
