Poema Mundi – 1000 Words For Peace
This poetic-musical show aims to celebrate the Christmas season and, at the same time, make a strong statement against war and violence, stressing the urgent need for a world where freedom and fellowship prevail.
It will bring together two musical groups (the Poetry Ensemble collective and the Naked Lunch string quartet) and the voices of Xana (Radio Macau), Mitó (A Naifa), Alice Neto de Sousa (Poeta), José Anjos and Paula Cortes (Lisbon Poetry Orchestra) and Patrícia Relvas (Lavoisier). Some musicians from the Afghan Musicians Community, directed by Rui Rebelo, also participate in this show.
Featuring poems by António Gedeão, Ary dos Santos, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Cecília Meireles, David Mourão-Ferreira, Eugénio de Andrade, Jorge de Sena, José Manuel Mendes, José Tolentino Mendonça, Miguel Martins, Nadia Anjuman (Afghanistan, 1980-2005), Natália Correia, Pedro Tamen, Reinaldo Ferreira, Sophia de Mello Breyner Adresen, Vinicius de Moraes e Yvette Centeno.
