Thrones of Saint Anthony street exhibition
Once again the Museu de Lisboa – Santo António is challenging all lisboetas to put together their own throne of Saint Anthony, transforming the city into one huge exhibition room. Continuing the thrones of Saint Anthony tradition, the museum is making throne structures available to the community which they can decorate and place on the street during the month of June. We ask that participants let us know where the throne will be on display so we can make a tour itinerary available online.
A form of cultural expression that is truly lisboeta and promotes the cultural identity of its neighbourhood, the Thrones of Saint Anthony street exhibition results in an accurate and genuine portrait of Lisbon’s inhabitants, bringing very special colour to the city during the month of the festas populares.
