Festas de Lisboa
Temporary Exhibition – Procession of Saint Anthony in Lisbon
An exhibition dedicated to the procession of Saint Anthony that takes place every year on the 13th June and has been part of the festival calendar since the 18th century. A genuine display of faith and devotion, nowadays the procession makes its way through the historic neighbourhood of Alfama. For the first time the exhibition will be presenting a depiction of the cortege of the current procession of Saint Anthony. Using the traditional clay figures of the Baraça de Barcelos brothers, more than 300 pieces will give colour and shape to the authentic concept of “neighbourhoodliness” that makes Lisbon so unique and special.
