Open House Lisboa
This is the 9th year of this now-customary weekend when the capital’s architecture opens its doors. This year, there’s a new format: a series of outdoor sound walks. Open House Lisboa is inviting the public to rediscover the art of taking a stroll through a Lisbon imagined, lived and narrated by eight very special guests.
From the online atlas Open House Lisboa (which brings together the 284 spaces that have been part of the different routes since 2012), the guests design and describe walking tours in the first person, which will result in eight audio guides that the visitor can follow independently and anytime.
This is the format of Open House Lisboa 2020, which will reveal the city of Gonçalo Byrne (architect), Inês Maria Meneses (broadcaster), Paula Moura Pinheiro (journalist and presenter), Lígia Soares (choreographer and playwright), Rui Tavares (historian), Leonor Teles (filmmaker), Gonçalo M. Tavares (writer) and Tomás Wallenstein (musician).
The procedure is simple: download the podcasts and the route shown on the map on the official website of the event and then walk to the sound of each guest's voice. We hope that this wide range of voices from different areas of culture is a catalyst for unique sensory experiences, providing new experiences of and knowledge about the city we inhabit.
