Rebellion and conspiracy! Many ingredients are needed to make a revolution. Throughout its history, Lisbon has been the stage of multiple coups, insurrections, riots, rebellions and revolts that would forever change the country's destiny. On this journey through squares and palaces, we revisit the sites of the main revolutions, from 1385 to 1974.

In the months following 25 April 1974, Portugal exploded with freedom! For those who experienced those moments, it is impossible to forget the emotion of feeling free at last! Zé Pinho regularly gathers together a group of friends to celebrate the enthusiasm of those times through the music of those who provided the soundtrack to the revolution, such as Zeca Afonso, José Mário Branco, Sérgio Godinho and Luís Cília, amongst others.
This initiative is sponsored by Cooperativa Agrícola de Santo Isidro de Pegões.

Celebrating Freedom is also celebrating the social and cultural diversity that has characterised Lisbon, both past and present. In April, the Lisbon Museum and the Batoto Yetu Portugal Association invite you to an afternoon gathering with dance, music and dialogue, which are important ways of giving a little colour to freedom. The afternoon will begin with a semba workshop, continues with the themed visit "Experiences and resistances: contributions to thinking about an African Lisbon", before ending with a concert by Guinean singer-songwriter Karyna Gomes.
