An extremely particular work in Portuguese cinematography: science fiction within militant cinema, shot in the midst of the PREC (Ongoing Revolutionary Process). Confederação imagines a Portugal divided into two states, clearly delimited on a social, political and philosophical level: North and South. The tension and monitoring between these two spheres is constant, but it doesn't stop Maria, a technician in the Anti-Seismic Brigades, and António, a Second Lieutenant in the Militia, from finding a way to enter into a forbidden relationship.

The latest show in Cláudia Gaiolas’ Antiprincesas series takes us back to a sixteenth century world of mermaids and sea monsters, armour, sharp swords and high-towered castles from which princesses peak out…We’ll also be visiting the century of the young Antónia Rodrigues, who left her small village by the Vouga river in search of a life of adventure. Antónia. António. Antónia? António? António, who braved storms in a caravel, discovered distant lands, fought in ferocious battles, receiving decorations and admiring looks for his acts of bravery. This is the extraordinary story of Antónia Rodrigues. António? Antónia? Antónia Rodrigues, a girl ahead of her time: sailor, war hero and a Portuguese Knight, for sure.
