Feira da Luz

The Feira da Luz, organised by the Carnide Parish Council, presents a vast, month-long cultural programme aimed at all the family.

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there’ll be concerts. Among the invited acts are many well-known names in Portuguese music, with Mia Rose (2 Sept), Amor Electro (9 Sept) and Tiago Bettencourt (24 Sep) some of the highlights.

Linked to the traditional pilgrimage to the Santuário da Nossa Senhora da Luz that took place annually in September, the Feira da Luz started out as an add-on to the religious festivities that would last several days, attracting outsiders from the capital and surroundings.

Over the years, it has gained in importance and since the 1990s the Carnide Parish Council has lent its support to the festivities of the Feira da Luz which culminate in the Procissão da Nossa Senhora da Luz.
