FUSO
FUSO is an open-air video art festival which, in addition to presenting new perspectives and creators, includes seminal works never exhibited in Portugal. It encourages creation and artists developing new ideas through a national competition and has played a leading role in the development of this art form in Portugal.
With this year’s programme, FUSO seeks to reflect how current artistic practices deal with the issue of global diversity and the problems that arise when diverse ways of thinking are not handled sensitively and lead to intolerance, racism, violence and exclusion.
This year, via our online broadcast live from the Fundação EDP and the Puppet Museum, you can see the works selected in our open call and the curatorial project. The works competing in the open call will stay online for the first three days of FUSO for the public vote. Voting closes on 29 August, after that day’s session.
The videos for each curatorial project will remain online for 24 hours after the conversations.
The work of the guest artist Hugo Canoilas will stay on the site during the four days of programming.
At the end of the festival, the complete programme will stay online for a week.
