The team from the Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre has uncovered another section of the central area of Lisbon’s Roman Theatre. The excavation, which took place in December, revealed a perfectly preserved continuation of the wall separating the stage from the audience.
Despite this discovery, there will be no further excavations for the time being. To make the site accessible to the public, the future of the building will need to be thought out in order to integrate it into the surrounding area, as part of a more wide-ranging project, while also taking into consideration the protection of the archaeological site more broadly.
