The Christmas lights in Lisbon will be inaugurated on the 23rd of November, filling the city’s streets, avenues and squares with brightness and color in an initiative by the Lisbon City Council and the Union of Commerce and Services Associations (UACS).
As usual, the moment will be celebrated at Terreiro do Paço with the symbolic lightning of the Christmas Tree, at 6:30 pm.
The inauguration of the Christmas decorations will be followed by a light and sound show and a concert, this year with the artist Aurea.
One of the most applauded voices in Portuguese music, the singer presents “Christmas Movie Songs”, interpreting themes from films that have marked the Christmas season over several generations, such as “Home Alone”, “A Christmas Carol” and “Nightmare Before Christmas”, among other great classics.
After the lights, the Christmas Festivities program follows, with concerts in churches and other spaces, which will be announced next week.
