At the Festas de Lisboa, the sardines are back – both grilled and illustrated. For the 16th edition of this creativity competition organised by EGEAC – Lisboa Cultura, we received 3,128 designs from 66 countries, including Mozambique, Denmark, Indonesia, Canada, Chile and Australia. The big winners of this edition have now been selected, in an international contest which challenged participants with the theme: “What is your story?”.
Cultural heritage, Fado, traditional flavours, the “tomatazo” and Portuguese neighbourhood pride are the stories told by the five winning sardines. The designs were submitted by creators aged between 21 and 72, with three from Portugal, one from Brazil and one from Uruguay.
