Teatro do Bairro Alto (TBA) is a venue dedicated to the creation and presentation of experimental artistic projects, as well as for reflecting on its modes, times and spaces.
New and recognised Portuguese and foreign artists from various performing arts areas (theatre, dance, music and sound arts, performance) cross paths at the TBA with an audience who is invited to be adventurous and who will want to return. Helping this mission, the main room, which resembles a black box, allows for the presentation of shows in various configurations.
This is a project that builds upon the memory of others as this is where Teatro da Cornucópia, one of the most important Portuguese theatre companies of the last half-century, performed between 1975 and 2016.
